Egg Decorating

My kids love to decorate eggs. I was not even planning on doing it with them this year, because finances were tight. This did not sit well with them, so they put their money together to buy the necessary items.

I love this smiley face.

He thought decorating eggs was an exciting thing also.

In my perusing of crafting websites, I came across the idea of using crayon. You grate crayons and then put the shavings on while the egg is still hot. It created a very interesting effect.

This is how Bailee feels when I take her picture and she has not had time to prepare herself.

I just enjoy the time it gives us to work on something fun and talk. Jeremy even joined for a while this time.

Visiting Animal Life

We often see animals that not many of you get to. This horse and goat are definitely not among the unusual, but this was the first time we saw them roaming free. They are our neighbor, Barry's animals. We gave him a call and not long after that they headed home to the disappointment of our children.

These wild turkeys, on the other hand, are a very new experience. This was the first time that we have ever had them come to our house. They were coming towards our house when I scared them away. In my eagerness to get their picture, I frightened them.

We have so enjoyed all the wildlife we have gotten experience living where we live.

Old Family Photos

We have been very busy this week and I do have pictures. I am just needing to get them off the camera. Until then I thought I would show you some old family pictures I found.

The above picture is of my dad's mom, Mary Romando Leister. She is the shorter of the two.

The above picture has my dad in it and the below one has my mother. Can you find them?

For those of you who know them, you will recognize my parents below. I am sure this was from one of my mom's senior dances. She told me she made Dad that shirt.

This final picture has my dad's parents in it. They are the couple in the lighter colored clothing. I just love old pictures. They are so fun.

Mischief

I know that we have had an incident with each child and writing on the wall. Luken finds it a bit more enjoyable than the others. If he gets his hands on a marker he will draw on anything. We have a portable heater that has been decorated by him.

The reasons his sisters are helping clean the way is because they were in the room with him while he created his masterpiece.

This only shows a small portion of his work. He had scribbled from the fireplace all the way to our couch about a 10 foot span.

Turning 35!

This last Sunday I celebrated my 35 birthday. My teenager walking around church telling anyone who asked that I was 56. Funny girl!

Here are some pictures from my party that afternoon.

That cute little fellow, Jeremy's mom Pam is holding, is my newest nephew. He is three months old and a delight. His name is Iriyah and he has definitely filled in over the last couple of months.

This is my niece, Anjahli. Her dad, Justin, tells me that he has a picture that looks just like this.

Gifts are always fun and my sister-in-law, Ange, makes the best candles.

Aren't these two cute?! They are about eight months a part in age. Makayla loves those four months that Ysa and her are the same age.

Luken helped me blow out my candle. He got a little too close for everyone's comfort.

Here I am with my "kids". I asked Jeremy to take a picture of me and my kids and Marv scooted over to be in the picture. Don't worry, Mom, I am not stealing him.

Makayla and Anjahli were blowing raspberries at each other.

Brittney is notorious in our family for taking self portraits.

I had an excellent birthday. Thank you everyone who came and celebrated with me.

Grandma Brenda's Birthday

Grandma Brenda's birthday was earlier this month. She has decided that she does not need to celebrate anymore birthdays, because she is now "plenty-nine", but we had a little something for her and asked to come over and have a card night with her.

Luken's favorite part was the popcorn.

This was the best picture I got. All of my children took turns making funny faces in one or other of the pictures.

Let Snow!!

I thought I would just let you all know that winter has not left the Palouse. Right at this moment, it is snowing and our high is only suppose to 39 today. Don't you feel lucky you don't live here.

Overflow

Bailee is involved with an outreach team through River City Dance. A project they took on this year was to clean up and dress up the visitation rooms at one of the local child services offices.

They took a Saturday to go in and give the rooms a thorough cleaning and then bring the items (furniture, toys, games, books, etc.) that they had collected.

They are a great group and I am just so impressed with their desire to help and make a difference.

Kiddos

Here are a couple of pictures of my girls being pills and my son not giving me the time of day.
Cute, aren't they?

Happy Birthday, Brandi

Today is my sister, Brandi's birthday. So you see, there were three of us who use to share a birthday celebration and I miss those times. On one side, it is like a dream come true to celebrate my birthday by myself. But on the flip side, I miss those who I have shared so many with.

Happy Birthday, Brandi. I hope you have a wonderful day like I did.

As you can see, we are quite the thespian family, as children that is.

Dancing also runs in the family.

Aren't you just cute?

Funny thing about this picture, I have no idea which of my children she is holding. I know it is Sam or Makayla, but I cannot come to a definite conclusion.

And here you are now with your own family. Happy birthday and many blessings, Brandi.
