Homecoming - Her First Official Date

Yes sirree, don't ask me how it happens, but they grow up.  I have to admit I DON'T LIKE IT!  Why can't they just stay 7?!

Everyone wanted a picture with Bailee the Beautiful.

Jace, the young man she went to Homecoming with, came to our house to have dinner.  I think I fed them too much.

She was a little nervous earlier in the day, but by the time Jace arrived, she was her silly self again.

High heels gives her one of the few opportunities to be taller than her mom.

A Wedding

Last Saturday, we were so honored to attend our girls' "Uncle" Largent's wedding.  It was a wonderful wedding, so Largent and Lori.  I loved it for that reason the most.  It was one of the most unique, personal wedding I have ever been to.

They set up a spot for kids with homemade coloring books and crayons.

Luken loves any opportunity to spend time with his boy cousins.  He loved getting to hang out with Caedmon.

Largent is my sister, Randi's, little brother, so that brought my brother, Jake, and his family to town.  It was so good to see them.

Anjahli giving her mama a bad time.  Then Brittney notices I am taking pictures.

They had this great photo booth.  The girls love when they get to spend time with Kyleigh who was also in town for the wedding.  She is actually Largent's niece.

Largent and Lori did a money dance.  Luken would not dance with Lori, but he did go with Bailee to dance with Largent.

The kids just loved the dancing.

Nez Perce County Fair

Every year it is a must to plan a visit to the Nez Perce County Fair.  The kids start asking when it will be at the beginning of summer.  The last couple of years we have had family in town to enjoy it with us.  This year we went with the Dertings and the Jake Leisters.

Our tour of the fair is the same every year.  We start in the Pavilion, go to the petting zoo, through the animal barns, get something to eat, and then head to the carnival.  This year we went so early the carnival wasn't even up and running yet.

Anjahli loved the petting zoo.  She thought it was great.  Luken, on the other hand, was overwhelmed and thought it was less than great.  He got out of their as quickly as he could.

Addi and Sam were a team at the fair.  It was really cute.  They walked around holding hands through the majority of our time.

I just loved Bailee's face in this picture and I am not sure what Makayla is doing.

That is a might big sandwich for such a little girl.

Jake, the poser

Caedmon's Papa Dave gave him some money for the fair and this hat is what he got.  I thought it was most appropriate.

We left not long after having lunch.  We had another fun filled  trip to the fair.  Troy and Dannon, you were missed.

Tumaini Children's Home - Brighton

The children at Tumaini Children's Home are in need of your help.  Many of them are in need of sponsors.  As I am sure you all realize, it takes money to provide for all the needs of these children.  If you or someone you know would be interested, please check into what it takes to become a Tumaini sponsor.  If you do it sooner than later, you will be able to choose a child.

Below is Brighton.  He is a miracle.  More on this at my mom's blog - Leister's Kenyan Life.  I encourage you to go and see what they smiley little guy has gone through in his first four years of life.

Below is a more recent picture of my family in Africa.  This was taken in July.  As you look at this picture, you will notice a couple of the girls with pants or skirts on their heads.  Mom says that there in Kenya the women either have extensions braided into their hair or the shave it very close to their heads.  This is what they have done, because it is easier to care for.  The little girls love Troy and Dannon's long hair, so they use the pants or skirts to give them long hair.  I think it is too funny.  Srah Ellen, the one with the pink "hair", is always like this.

Leisters Come to Town and We Go to the Park

Randi and the kids came to town a week ago.  We got spend lots of time with them, which was so great.  We spent some time at Pioneer Park together.  Above Norah has no fear.  She kept wanting walk out on the poles.

Addi and Luken really hit it off.

This girl has so much personality.  I love it.

Back to Norah having no fear, she walked right to this slide, sat down, and tried to wiggle her hand out of her mom's.  Thankfully, Bailee was at the bottom ready to catch her.

And then there is my nephew, Caedmon, who rarely stops moving.  In fact, I think he only stops moving when his parents have him sit to calm down.  He is a joy though.

They are leaving today and I will miss them.  I am so thankful that God has orchestrated different events that have brought them to the valley over the last year.  I keep praying for more of those times.

Stay tuned I will have more of our fun over the next week.

New Kittens and Gerbils

It was time for kittens to replace the lost ones.  So Bailee scoured the internet and facebook and found us a couple of very black kittens.

This is Raja and Bajheera.  We love kittens around here and we are always very sad when they get lost.  These two are a feisty pair and thankfully hearty, because Luken loves them.  Something else I am grateful for is the fact that he is beyond the age for carrying them by the neck.  He is very good about carrying them around the middle whether they like it or not.

And here are our other pets - the gerbils.  Honestly, I have no idea what their names are.  They are just the "gerbils."  We have almost had them for a year now.  They are a super easy pet just not as cuddly as the kittens.

Finally, Eggs

On the 1st of September, we got our first egg from our chickens.  We are so excited for them to start laying.

Then yesterday, we got our first green egg.  We have one Americauna which will lay the green or bluish-green eggs.  The kids are fighting over who gets to go get eggs.

Free Amazon Books

Well, I just don't have the time right now to keep updating my Free Amazon Book page.  I am keeping it with all the always free books on it, but I will be doing blog posts of other free books when I have the time.  This is the first of these.  Enjoy!

Little Bits

We have had many little things happening in our family lately.

Our neighbor recently brought the kids to huge furniture boxes.  They turned them into a playhouse and spaceship.  We had some extra cans of spray paint around, so we let them decorate their boxes.

I love sunset shots.  We get some great sunsets up here on the prairie.

Samantha also lost a tooth.  I wish I had the video camera on her at the time, because it was funny.  She was showing me how she could wiggle two different teeth and one just popped out.  She was shocked.  Her facial expressions were priceless.

I accepted a position with in the children's ministry at our church and my husband just told me I might have my first copywriting job via his website design business.

Life is very full right now.  I am enjoying the many aspects of it.
