The Many Faces of Luken Movius

To be in the Movius family, you must have an abundance of character. Luken is definitely developing his. He is quite the cheeky little thing. Here are a few of his many looks.

In the above picture, I had put a little of his baby wash in the water for bubbles and he decided to eat them. He ended up with this cute mustache and beard. I am not sure what he thought of the taste.

Here he is with sister, Bailee. He loves his sisters. His whole little face just shines when they decide to play with him and give him their attention.

Last Weekend's Project

We have this great raspberry patch back by our shed. My intentions have always been to tend it and then get a great harvest of raspberries. Sadly enough, that has yet to happen. I am believing for this year to be the year.

So this last weekend, I went out and did some pruning. I wish I had thought to get a before picture. I attacked this raspberry patch. There was so much dead stuff in there. I cleaned it all out and trimmed them down to 5'. I am so excited to see what we will get this summer.

My next task for this project is to dig up some of the plants and replant them, so we can have some rows making it easier to get to the berries.

I will keep you informed of my progress. I am just so excited to outside doing yard work this spring. Last spring I was just way too pregnant. I am even planning a garden. It is going to be such great fun.

2nd Yard Day

The little girls and I worked on the yard yesterday, but I did not take any pictures.
I decided to bring the camera with me today. Luken was actually not to sure of the wheelbarrow. Bailee put him in it laying down at first.

At the left of the below picture is our raspberry patch. As you can see it is way overgrown. I was enormously pregnant last spring and yard work was not on my list of to dos, so there are lots of yard projects that need to be done this year. Today we worked on weeding the raspberry patch.

My posers

Luken liking being on the ground more than wheelbarrow. He really liked the gloves we were using also.

Crafting It

Here is Luken doing his favorite thing. Eating things off the floor. You cannot see it very well, but he has a green bead in his mouth.

Below is the girls doing one of their favorite things, creating crafts. They are coloring, cutting, and making projects.

Bailee's Eyes

When I uploaded pictures from my camera, I found this picture. For those of you who do not know Bailee, she has two different colored eyes. When she was younger, they were much more pronounced. The lighter one was a whole lot closer to blue than hazel. Many people meet her now and do not even notice.

Bath Time

The other day the girls were in the bath. Luken loves to take a bath, so he thought it would be great to join them.

Here they are. He only enjoyed it for a little while. He prefers bathes on his own.

More of the Little Man

Here are a few more pictures of Luken. We think he is exceptionally cute. He is also getting so that he can pull himself up on most everything and stand there for a while.

Luken and Night Photography

Our camera has a light that comes on to let you know that the flash is going to be used. This is what Luken does when he sees the light on the camera.

2009 in Review Part 3

March 2009 - Our first visit to the park after winter. We went to a park in Moscow. The girls loved it.

I cannot remember where Bailee was, but I am sure she was having fun without us.

For those of you who follow this, you know Bailee loves to do photo shoots with herself and her sisters. This is one of my favorites that she did of herself.

Sammy lost her second tooth. Nice little gap there on the bottom. Just on a side note, she did not loose her two top teeth until a year later.

And then here is Luken continuing to develop.

2009 in Review Part 2

These are a couple of pictures from February that I love. Above - Sammy lost her first tooth. It was a VERY exciting experience. Makayla cannot wait until she is six that is when she has determined her teeth will begin to fall out just like Sam.

And here was our boy before he was born. I am so glad that he is here now, but I do like to look at these pictures. It is so fun to remember this experience and getting these pictures.

2009 in Review Part 1

Since we really have not been taking a lot of pictures lately, I thought I would give you the year in review and show you some of my favorite pictures from last year.

I love the one above. This was our January last year. I know most people in our area have appreciated the lack of snow, but I have really missed it. This is my house out in the middle of the snow covered fields.

I love this one of Makayla. Do you just see all the joy that snow brings?

What you cannot entirely see is that Sammy is climbing a little incline. She thinks she is being sneaky.

It snowed just a few days before Sam's birthday last year. These extra two lovely ladies and Grandma Pam and Grandpa Mike were the only ones to brave coming to our house for her party. They had a great time sledding. Tess has been disappointed every since. We keep having to tell her we have no snow when she asks to come sledding again.

I just love how snow creates a vastness to a scene. To me, it just makes everything look so much more wide and open. I love it!

Our Little Climber

Little Mr. Luken (or Yuken, as Cousin Roslynn says) has decided he likes the idea of standing up. I have been given a bad time, because I discourage people from helping him walk. I know he will walk soon enough and I am not ready yet for that.

He has been doing some exercises to get him ready anyway. He is a cheeky little monkey.
I found him on the bottom step of our stairs. It has not happened again and I am very glad for that. We need to get a baby gate soon for the stairs.

Jeremy's Birthday Party

My husband turned the big 34 a little over a week ago. Birthdays around here deserve parties and so we gave him one. Here are some pictures from it.

Look at these cute girls. The two with the crimped hair are ours of course. Bailee spent hours one day crimping their hair, all of them. I did not get a picture of Bailee with hers. I will next time though. Welcome back to the 80s. Just so you all know, I was just starting my teen years at the end of the 80s, so not really my decade.

This is Jacque, Jill, and Jeremy's mom, Pam. We are blessed to have family and friends join our birthday celebrations.

Here is Ange with Baby Jocelyn. I had to take this picture twice, because I did not have the right angle. This is what I get for taking the picture of a professional photographer.

And last, but not least, D!vers!ty band revisited. My husband received Guitar Hero World Tour band kit for Christmas. He has been dying to get Christian up here to tell him how realistic the drums were. They had their own little special moment. They were all going to be rock stars.

Bailee and GenUnleashed

Bailee traveled to Portland this last weekend for a youth conference. She had a fabulous time, which was an answer to prayer.

She was very missed by her sisters. They even zipped Makayla up in her bag to see if she would fit and could go along. Makayla asked me everyday when Bailee would be home. It was so cute.

Anyway, she is home now and I am not sure I am going to allow her to be gone for so long again. She talked my ear off for three hours straight and had more to say the next morning.

Mom, I am not sure if she can visit Kenya. Can you imagine how much she would have to tell me after a few weeks? Not sure, if I am ready for that.

A Boy and His Dog - More Recent

The little man has really decided he likes the dog. His favorite thing to do, other than examine her thoroughly, is to climb over her when she is laying on the floor. Thankfully, she is very tolerant of him and lets him pull, grab, and poke him.

We weighed Gia the other day and she weighs 60lbs. She is only eight months old. I am hoping she stops growing soon.

Life in the Laundry Basket

Sam thought it would be fun to put Luken in the laundry basket with the clean towels. He enjoyed it. He was in there for probably a half an hour.

Bailee thought he looked so cute she needed to take pictures.

A Little Snow

Last week we got a bit of snow. The girls woke up, saw it, and were outside in no time. This winter they know to get in all the play they can, because our snow has been little and far between.

Getting Through the Obstacles

Luken is now a master crawler. He can go where he likes. Sometimes there are place we do not want him to go, like the bathroom. We put a basket across the way to the kitchen and bathroom. The other night he had found a way through and was pushing himself through the gap to get to his goal - the bathroom.

Another Tooth

Sammy has lost her other front tooth. She looks so cute.

Again, it had gotten so loose, we sent her to the bathroom to pull it. It only took her about 3 minutes this time.

Please pray for Sam's teeth. Last time we took her to the dentist, he told us that she had a genetic disorder that cause her teeth to be 50% weaker than they should be. It affect her molars and possibly her front top teeth. We would know if they came in discolored.

A small portion of her top new tooth is showing and it looks discolored to me. Please pray for completely health teeth to come and in and a reversal of whatever disorder she has. Thank you so much. We have seen such awesome things happen in our lives through prayer.

Bailee's Wall Art

Bailee got this great wall art for Christmas. She has this desire to visit Paris. I am not sure, but I think all girls do. The supposed center for fashion and all things glamorous. When she saw it at Costco, she wanted it. This was a great gift. Thank you, Grandma Pam.

Once it was up, it became the background for a photo shoot.

Doesn't Makayla just look fabulous?
