Camping at Wawawai County Park - Part 1

My brother, Marvin, was the one who brought our attention to Wawawai County Park.  It is actually only 30 minutes away and we thought it would be a great place to go for our first camping trip of the season.  It only has 9 first come camp sites.  It really is a nice, simple campground.  I only have two wishes for it.  That they would install plumbing and that they would enforce the closed gate at dusk.

He fell asleep in that 30 minute drive.

Looking happy while helping set up.

They were so excited to be camping.

They have a mile long trail that brings you up out of the camp and you can see up and down the Snake River.  It was really nice that night.

We actually went Thursday night through Saturday afternoon, because Jeremy had to do sound at church on Sunday.

Friday morning

It is situated near the train tracks.  There was only one train that went by and we weren't even there.  We had gone up river a bit to swim.

These butterflies were right where the kids were playing in the water.

Using logs as rafts was a big part of the fun.

Jeremy was constantly trying to take a nap.

This is on the river.

Saturday morning

We really had a great time.  More to come.
